Gifts of a Kabeyun Summer

Kabeyun offers boys the chance to explore a wide variety of sports and activities not usually available to them during the rest of the year. Through a completely elective system of programming, they choose daily from over 20 activities including high adventure sports like white water paddling, rock climbing and hiking, sailing, windsurfing, wakeboarding and waterskiing, in balance with more creative endeavors like woodworking, pottery, music, drama and traditional camp activities like archery, ropes course, swimming and fishing.

The atmosphere at Kabeyun encourages the growth of a boy's self-awareness and confidence in the context of community living. We work hard to balance attention to individual growth with the cultivation of a boy's sense of place within the group, whether in the cabin with his peers, on a trip, or at an all-camp assembly. As a part of encouraging strong character and citizenship, we place a high value on developing problem solving and conflict resolution skills. By living closely together in our small community boys learn to be positive and productive citizens - tolerant and understanding of the rights of others, respectful of individual differences.

Time and time again, we hear Kabeyun campers, staff and alumni refer to camp as "home." The reference emanates from the solid sense of comfort and security so many have felt here. So many lasting friendships have begun here, so many lessons learned, so many personal strengths discovered - these, we believe, are among the greatest gifts Kabeyun can provide.

Parents Love It!

“Oliver is having the most awesome school year ever! He has matured so much and we attribute much of his success to Kabeyun. He is conscious this year of who he is and how he impacts others. He takes himself less seriously and is quicker to laugh off mistakes and take life in stride. The most heart-warming part is he has begun to understand the importance of developing friendships.”

Kabeyun is really a special place. I didn't go to camp as a kid, but if I had, I would have wanted the Kabeyun experience.”
