Aaron Lefland (Climbing)
Aaron Lefland (Climbing)
Aaron started as a camper in 2001 and returned for five years running. He returned in 2007 to participate in our counseling intern program, then went off in 2008 to join the National Outdoor Leadership School for a three-week program in back country leadership. Aaron has been active in the Boy Scouts for years, as a patrol leader for three years, achieving Life Scout and completing the requirements for Eagle earlier this year. It will be Aaron's first year on the Kabeyun staff - first of many, if we're lucky enough to hang on to him. He's off the begin his college career at Brandeis University in the fall.

We're excited to welcome Aaron back to share his skills with Kabeyun hikers for his fourth summer. A native of New Hampshire, Aaron has a long-held passion for back country experience and a deep knowledge of the White Mountains. His experience with the Boy Scouts gave him the solid foundation of leadership upon which he continues to build.Aaron earned his Eagle Scout in 2000 and went on to act as patrol leader and assistant scout master with his troop.  A graduate of UNH, Aaron continues to be involved with the UNH Outing Club as an advisor and trip leader.
Alex Hill (Photography)
Alex Hill (Photography)
A man of many talents, Alex came to us in 2008 to co-lead our rock climbing program. This year Alex returns to head up the activity that is also his major in college right now: photography. A new Hampshire native, Alex learned quickly to love Kabeyun and we look forward to many summers of seeing him share his talents with kids.
Alex Parker (Fishing)
Alex Parker (Fishing)
With Alex we see the expansion of the fishing department we've craved for several summers. Alex is a multi-talented outdoorsman with a passion for fishing and hunting, looking forward to sharing his knowledge with the Kabeyun boys this summer. Alex will be a senior at North Carolina State University, pursuing a degree in Wildlife Sciences. He'll work with Davis to ensure a daily diet of fishing, both in and out of camp.
Andrew Hostetler
Andrew Hostetler
We are pleased to welcome Andrew Hostetler to Kabeyun for his first year as a counselor, working as an assistant to Mike on the ropes course. Andrew is a graduating senior at the International School of Bangkok, and has an impressive background in travel, an enthusiasm for working with kids, and a passion for the outdoors.

We are excited to welcome Andy to Kabeyun for his first year on staff. He is a rising senior at the University of New Hampshire, looking forward to graduating next year with a double major in Studio Art and Economics - talk about balance! From across the Pond at the University of Plymouth in England, we are very excited to welcome Ben to Kabeyun to join the tennis program. Ben graduates in two years with a Bachelors in Primary Education and Physical Education - he plans (wise man) to become a teacher, and has solid experience coaching tennis.
Bill French
Bill French
Kabeyun is lucky to welcome Bill back to camp, summer after summer. No one is sure where he gets the energy, but during the Kabeyun summers he balances time at camp with maintaining a busy life as a real estate broker in Boston. Bill has spent summers at Kabeyun for over thirty summers, beginning as a camper in the 1950s. As a counselor in the '50s, he taught canoeing and led canoe trips all over New England. Then, through the 1980s and '90s he worked as part-time Assistant Director. Bill has also been a trustee for the Porter Foundation since its inception in 1973. He'll be back in action in 2009, to be helpful on many levels, the most fun being when he leads boys in crocquet matches, squares off against all takers on the badminton courts, and leads boys in camp walkabouts to explore Kabeyun history. Oh, and his father was one of the original five campers at Kabeyun in 1924! An impressive tenure!
Brian Ingram (Climbing)
Brian Ingram (Climbing)
Brian loves to climb! We are very excited to welcome him to the Kabeyun community for his first year on staff. A rising senior at North Carolina State University, Brian has a solid foundation of training and experience including sport climbing in Ecuador while he was a study-abroad student there, and coursework this spring in New Hampshire.
Caroline van Hattem (Sailing)
Caroline van Hattem (Sailing)
A Kabeyun counselor for ten years, Caroline first came to Kabeyun from her home in Amsterdam, Netherlands, in 1989 and worked for several years as a counselor. She returned in 2003 and has been back every summer since. At home, she is a human resources professional, most recently working for the Disney Corporation. No one really knows how she manages it, but we're so fortunate she is able to carve out of her life more Kabeyun summers. An accomplished sailor, Caroline is at home on the water and messing about in boats, giving play to her passion for teaching kids about her favorite pastime.
Charlie Huntington (Sailing)
Charlie Huntington (Sailing)
Charlie returns for his second year on staff in sailing. A camper for two summers, he had a successful summer as a part of the counseling intern program, and then almost got away, pursuing other interests for a summer. He came to his senses, fortunately,  and returned last year. Charlie is finishing his freshman year at Swarthmore College, and along with being a solid sailor and counselor, is an accomplished guitar player.
Christian Latham (Photography)
Christian Latham (Photography)
Christian has been a camper for several years, had a very successful summer in 2008 as a counseling intern and returns for his first year on staff to assist Alex in photography. Christian has a solid knowledge of darkroom techniques and the art of photography as well as a rich background in the theater, both at home and at camp. He is also a third generation camper - his father, grandfather and great uncles all have years of Kabeyun in their blood.
Dave Kelley (Archery)
Dave Kelley (Archery)
