Centennial Champions
Thanks to all who made Kabeyun’s centennial such a successful and memorable year! In addition to expressing our gratitude to every single donor, guest, volunteer, and staff member, we’d like to spotlight the extraordinary work of three trustees who brought some ambitious goals to fruition.
Second Century Campaign
Doug took on the leadership of both the Centennial Steering Committee and the Second Century Campaign. For more than two years, his steady guidance on the steering committee kept everyone pointed in the right direction, resulting in a capital campaign, capstone celebration, and historical book that all exceeded expectations! Doug’s commitment to the Second Century Campaign, including his many conversations with early donors, inspired everyone involved and propelled the campaign to more than 118% of its goal.
Kabeyun history book
Maria was the driving force behind the commemorative history book, Kabeyun: The First 100 Years. In addition to her careful work digitizing and organizing camp’s photo archives, Maria solicited, collected, and culled submissions from more than 50 members of the camp community to create this treasure trove of stories, voices, and images. We are so grateful to Maria, Josh Wolk, Dan Schlozman, and others who produced this beautiful book (which you can order here).
Capstone celebration
Heidi’s formidable focus and organizational skills were key to the tremendous success of the centennial celebration in September. From the initial planning stages to final clean-up, Heidi led with vision and directness of purpose. She thoroughly researched, vetted, and managed multiple vendors, menus, tents, and much more, always keeping both the guest experience and a reasonable budget in mind. We all can thank Heidi for helping create a wonderful, meaningful weekend for our entire community!
