For the 2022 summer season, Kabeyun will require COVID-19 vaccinations for all campers and staff.
In accordance with its licensing requirements, Kabeyun already requires immunization against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella.
The Porter Foundation’s board of trustees (which includes two board certified physicians, one of whom is a pediatrician) is charged with protecting the health and safety of its entire community. Kabeyun’s vaccination policy was developed in consultation with medical professionals, camp industry experts, and our legal counsel. While we understand and appreciate that the decision to vaccinate and the timing of vaccinations is complex and personal, it is the Porter Foundation’s reasoned decision that a fully vaccinated camp population will give Kabeyun the best possible opportunity for a full, healthy, successful, and unmasked summer season.
Families who have enrolled for the upcoming summer and are unwilling or unable to meet all of Kabeyun’s immunization requirements may withdraw their enrollment(s) at no penalty and receive a full refund of all monies paid, including deposits, until March 31, 2022.
