Kabeyun is sailing into its second century strengthened by the most ambitious capital campaign in its history. Receiving broad-based support from campers, alumni, and their families, the Second Century Campaign raised an astounding $1.7 million during 2023 and 2024.
We are awed by the response, which will ensure the Kabeyun experience is as strong and meaningful in the future as it is today.
The groundwork for this campaign was laid during a guided strategic planning retreat in spring 2022. Kabeyun’s trustees and leadership team worked together to identify a few long-term projects that would preserve camp’s core elements while helping it evolve. These became the campaign’s three priorities:
In all, 350 households contributed to the Second Century Campaign, with gifts ranging from $10 in cash mailed by a camper to multiple, multi-year gifts of $100K and above!
The funds are already having an impact. In addition to moving money into the tuition assistance fund, pursuing construction permits for the waterfront, and researching options for the courts, Kabeyun completed construction of a new Nature Shack in spring 2024 to support campers’ connection to the land, forest, and shoreline.
