Celebrating Kabeyun at 100

Kabeyun is coming into an exciting couple years as we get ready to mark our centennial in 2024. Many of our plans are still taking shape. We are happy to share here what we know so far.

Events

Kabeyun plans festivities throughout 2024, including special events during the summer sessions, Family Camp, and hopefully some regional events during the off-season. The capstone event is set for September 7 & 8, 2024. The majority of this celebration, including an evening banquet, will take place on September 7. Please note this event will be separate from Family Camp.

We look forward to welcoming back many members of the Kabeyun community; unfortunately, camp is not big enough to provide housing for this event. Accommodations will be available at Camp Brookwoods about two miles away, with shuttle service to and from Kabeyun. In addition, there are hotels in Wolfeboro and Rochester, and campgrounds nearby.

Commemorative Book

Thanks to a small group of volunteers, we plan to publish a book commemorating Kabeyun’s first century. As part of this effort, volunteers are digitizing much of our photographic archive and collecting stories and mementos from Kabeyun folks across generations. They welcome your memories and other contributions at alumni@kabeyun.org.

Fundraising

We are in the preliminary stages of a capital campaign to ensure that Kabeyun thrives into its second century. Stay tuned for how you can help enhance our facilities and land and make camp accessible to more boys.

Volunteers

We are very grateful to the 10 members of our steering committee and welcome the help of many more members of our community. Interested in helping Kabeyun celebrate our centennial? Please email office@kabeyun.org. We’ll add your name to our list of volunteers and be in touch as more opportunities take shape. Thank you!
