Alumni Gatherings Resume in Northeast

Together Again

In 2022 and into 2023, Kabeyun folks had renewed opportunities to get together at camp and in other spots.

Family Camp resumed after a two-year break due to COVID.  Over two weeks, more than 250 guests of all ages stayed at camp. Folks filled the dining hall and docks with laughter, hugs, and lively conversations, and the trustees of the Porter Foundation held their first in-person board meeting since December 2019!

Also in late August, the Kabeyun Mountain Club celebrated its 70th year with a casual gathering in Crawford Notch State Park organized by Wayne Stanton and Dave "Smitty" Smith. KMC members ranging in age from 12 to 80+ traded stories, enjoyed Moxie and Spam, visited favorite swimming holes, and hiked Mt. Carrigain.

Then, in the fall, Kabeyun hit the road. We’re grateful to Larry Golding for hosting a lovely cocktail party at the Harvard Club of New York City. In early 2023, Boston-area folks gathered for a similarly convivial evening at Nightshift Brewing, plus two traditional Winter Gatherings at camp. We’ll be back on the road in the fall and look forward to more gatherings in other cities in the coming months and years!
